This mattress pad is very comfortable. I haven’t had any problems with slipping – it fits my mattress perfectly.

The only issue is washing it – it is HUGE because it’s so fluffy, and I learned the hard way I have to set the water level in the washer to low or it floods because it’s so large and doesn’t absorb a lot. Once you know that, however, it’s really a gem of a product.

Add an extra layer of cozy comfort and superior softness to the bed with this Basics overfilled, ultra-soft microplush mattress pad. The overall effect: a soft, durable pad that stays securely in place on the mattress.

Never slept so good!

This mattress pad is so comfortable! I actually sleep on it sometime without putting sheets on top just because it is so amazingly soft and comfortable. Definitely recommend this mattress pad.

Do these tend to be hot at night?
NO! not at all, that’s one of the key characteristics I love about it. I’ve always had heat issues with mattress pads, foam, etc. I will definitely buy this again when my current one needs replacing.

Does this mattress have straps to keep it tucked in or how do you keep it tucked in??
It is a mattress pad with fitted sides that have elastic. just like any other mattress pad, or just like a fitted bottom sheet.

Would this be recommended to put on top of the poor-quality dorm mattresses?
I have it on top of the mattress that was donated to me in college 5 years ago (I have no idea how old the mattress actually is but it is at least 10 years old). I was using it as my mattress until last year and it is now my guest bed. I get compliments on how comfy the bed is all of the time! I attribute it to the mattress topper. After my family tried it out, they have all purchased them too! I highly recommend it! If your dorm mattress is terrible- you may want to consider an affordable foam topper that is thick to provide a little more support. This topper adds an amazing plush feeling under your sheets. Deep pockets too so it can accommodate really deep mattresses.

Can anyone actually say how thick this mattress pad really is?
I just measured mine and it is 1 inch thick. It is extremely soft and fluffy.

I am worried about the side material tearing, is it sturdy enough to not tear everytime you adjust the pad?
The material that actually holds the mattress in place is thin but feels sturdy. I’m not sure if it is but the stitching feels reinforced. While placing the pad on the bed for the first time it was pulled into place firmly and I felt NO giving of the material. Again, I think that this mattress pad is an exceptional product and value and if your end up feeling anything like me you’ll purchase more than 1.

Better than what I expected!it's fluffy and the material is soft. You almost don't need a fitted sheet! We live in a hot climate and it didn't help with sleeping cool at night! But if I lived up north I'd have it for sure!
+ PROS: It was soft & fluffy, but just too hot for us.
    - CONS: This product was very soft, but heavy & didn't allow bedding any air flow.
