Hi everyone, this article is about my college dorm hall. This year, I’m going to be a freshman at a State University in Ohio and I’m so unbelievably excited for school to start. So, in order to stay organized, I made a list on my phone of the things that I would need for college; and then, as I got everything, I went ahead and checked if off using the check mark emoji. The color scheme that my roommate and I are doing is white, silver, purple, and blue. So, I hope that this article is really helpful for all of you who are going to college in the fall.

- Down Alternative Comforter –
To start off with bedding, I got a white comforter from Amazon. It is the Down Alternative Comforter and it’s just a basic comforter in the size twin XL. I originally wanted a comforter that had pleading or ruffles to it, but then I decided that you know, I plan on putting a throw blanket and some throw pillows on my bed so it doesn’t really matter all that much if I have a basic comforter; and plus, me and my roommate are lofting our beds so no one’s really going to see the comforter anyway. So, as long as it’s white, I am perfectly fine with that.

So, the next thing that I have is the vintage sheet from Amazon and I don’t sleep with flat sheets – I hate flat sheets. I normally just sleep with the comforter and the fitted sheet so, that’s all I’m going to do. So, it’s just like lavender color and I’m not so sure like how I feel about the color because I was hoping that it would like a brighter purple, but I think I’m just going to go ahead and use it anyway. The comforter is going to be covering it so it won’t be that big of a deal.
So, the next thing that I got is a must-have – it is a foam mattress pad and I got this from Amazon. It’s so important to get a mattress pad for college because those beds are not comfortable, so I’m really glad that I have that to add that extra support and comfort while I’m sleeping
So I got a fur pillow too and I absolutely love it. I don’t like to sleep on throw pillows and I know most people probably don’t. I don’t know. So, I don’t really plan on getting too many throw pillows, but I’ll put two of them on my bed as they look so furry and beautiful.
So, the next thing that I got for my desk is a LED lamp. In order to turn it on, you tap it and if you keep tapping it, the brightness increases so it’s awesome because if you, for example just need a dim light because your roommate’s sleeping, you can put it on the dim setting, but if you want to be super bright you can put it on the bright setting, so I’m really excited for this.
For my desk, I got this really cute succulent and I absolutely love succulents, plants, flowers, so I’m really excited to put it on my desk.
I got a really cute picture frame and I think I’m going to put a picture of either like my family or my best friend and me so that I can feel as cozy as possible while I’m away from home.
On to the more homey stuff, I got a really cute laundry hamper from Amazon and it just says laundry on it and it’s like a bag which is going to be so convenient because in college you normally have to carry your bag down the stairs or to wherever the laundry room is. So, I think this is so cute and you can get it from Amazon.
The next thing that I got is Tide Pods and these are free and gentle pods and so I’m going to use this instead of laundry detergent because it’s just going to be way more convenient and then along with that I got a Downy Fabric Softener in the scent Cashmere Glow. I just thought that it was the same price as all the other like generic-looking fabric softeners so I went ahead and picked this one up.
So, I got a set of 25 velvet hangers and velvet hangers are awesome because they save a lot more space than like your regular plastic hangers and also your clothes don’t fall off so I’m really excited to use these.
The next thing that I got is a steamer from Amazon and so I don’t iron my clothes all that much. I thought it’d be a good idea just to bring a steamer anyway just in case I need it. I didn’t want to bring an iron and ironing board because that just takes up a lot of space so I thought that a steamer was perfect because it’s nice and compact and yeah, I’m excited to use it.
So, the next thing was Storage card from Sterilite. I got a five-drawer organizer. I plan on separating it into like, make-up, hair, nails, health and toiletries. It’s pretty big so it’s a lot of space for all my makeup. So yeah, I think this is a must to have just something to store all of your stuff in.
I bought a mirror as well and it is just and over-the-door mirror and it is super-duper cute. The styling is a nice fit for a bedroom, bath, or living room. Patented no-tools hanging system allows you to hang the mirror over-the-door without using any tools.
Another thing I picked up was a ton of command hooks; and so, in most college dorms you’re not allowed to use nails so command hooks are definitely going to come in handy. I got the command hooks for me and my roommate to use as like little key hooks and then we’re just going to use the rest of them to hang up our lights in all over the core.
From Amazon, I got a four pack of aluminum spray bottles and I also got chalkboard labels that come with the chalkboard marker and I plan on making an all-natural, all-purpose cleaning spray that we can use in our dorm. For those of you who don’t know me, I’m really into essential oils so I’m really excited to make some cleaner for our dorm.
From Amazon, I picked up this silver crystal Home Fragrance Wallflower that we’re just going to use in our room because unfortunately, we can’t burn candles in our room which sucks.
Now on to bath stuff, I just picked up this basic blue towel set. I also picked up Old Navy flip flops to use as shower shoes. Guys, please bring shower shoes because I know that those floors are disgusting.
And then from Amazon, I ordered a shower caddy. The shower tote bag is made with 8 outer pockets and 1 Main Large Compartment to keep everything you need easily accessible including shampoo, conditioner, soaps, comb, toothbrush, razor and keeps them organized and shipshape. It is portable, personal and lightweight! Excellent for carrying and organizing all your bath accessories.
- Loofah, Cotton Round, Shaving Cream, Silk Hydro Razor Heads, Deodorant
So I also ordered really, really pretty loofah. I got basic cotton round and then I have shaving cream, shaving gel, some silk hydro like razor heads because I already have the razor. I’m just going to interchange the head.
And then something I’m really excited about is this Cocovit Coconut Oil. Guys, this stuff is so good. It smells like straight-up coconut. It is so moisturizing and I’m still in love with it.
For skin care, I’m basically going with a whole like Mario Badescu vibe, so right now I just have his Glycolic Acid Toner, Foaming cleanser and a moisturizer.
I got this really cute cup brush holder and I’m going to use this as a make-up brush holder.
I got a few wireless, like push lights; and so, I plan on making us one of those like light-up mirrors that we can put on our vanity. These are really cool because you just put like batteries inside and then you push them to turn them on and off.
So, I also picked up like a ton of makeup like some lashes, some mascara, few of my favorite foundations, some of my eyebrow gel that I use, then I needed a new setting spray so just a few little stuffs.
So, that is all that I have for you guys today. I still have some more things I didn’t get to write, but I plan on making a college school supply haul. Anyway, it still has some of the other stuff such as our TV, our fan, and our rug.
